The process
From stripped-down to shipped
Whether it is a new build or a unit that has failed in service, every gearbox goes through the same eight steps on our shop floor.

Inspection & diagnosis
The unit is stripped down, every gear, shaft and bearing measured, and the cause of the failure found before anything is made.

Reverse engineering & design
Gear geometry recovered from the worn parts or designed new — ratio, module, helix and loads checked on paper first.

Housing machining
Joint faces milled and bearing seats line-bored on our horizontal boring mills, so every shaft runs true.

Gear cutting & shafts
Spur, helical, bevel and worm gears cut on our own gear machines; shafts turned, splined and keyed.

Heat treatment & grinding
Teeth hardened for wear life, then bearing journals and seats ground to size.

Assembly
New bearings and seals fitted, backlash and tooth contact set, the housing closed and sealed.
